[Translate to English:] Rita Maksimtseva

Welcome Rita, our member of the month in July!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Margaryta, aka Rita, I am Ukrainian who has previously lived in Barcelona for 7 years.

What made you come to Berlin?
I moved here in April, basically because I could. I have my childhood friends here and my work allowed me to, and 7 years of tapas were enough.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
I am Operations Manager for the Risk and Compliance department of Dow Jones. We sell databases of people and companies who might present a risk to banks and other financial institutions. My tasks vary from helping in recruitment of editors to building of our editorial platform - but I am not as serious as it sounds.

Since when do you cowork at Office Club?
Since the first day I arrived, as I had no internet at home. Then they tricked me in to stay with their cappuccinos and free ice cream.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
I cannot stand the idea of spending each and single day alone at home in front of a computer, even if my work involves a lot of virtual interaction. It is also a way of structuring my day, as once I am done, I turn off the computer and I do not turn it back on until I am "in the office".

Which questions / problems / ideas could you help your coworking neighbour with?
I can show you places where to have lunch if you are new. I speak 6 languages, including Russian, Ukrainian and Catalan if you ever need to decipher a text and google translate isn't good enough. I am also well versed in Anti-Money Laundering legislation, but hopefully you will not need help with that!

Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
Everyone should try Liquidrom at least once. You will not find better chicken than in http://www.henne-berlin.de/
And bring a raincoat.

Thanks a lot, Rita, and all the best!
