Meet Karsten - our member of the month in September!
Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
Hi, my name is Karsten. I was born and raised in the Rhineland. At the age of about 20 I moved to Bielefeld where I studied economics, IT and financial controlling.
What made you come to Berlin?
When I was around 30 I had this wish to live in a bigger city than Bielefeld. After a stopover in Cologne - I worked for a very cool but quite fortuneless web design company - I applied for jobs in Hamburg and Berlin. So this is how I came to Berlin where I worked as an IT specialist with Daimler / Toll Collect for more than 10 years.
What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
Last year I became self-employed as a project manager in IT where my focus is on business analysis and requirements management. For now my goal is just one: to succeed with this job and life model.
Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
I am benefiting from Office Club since – well, I don’t remember – January or February 2018.
[February! the editor :)]
What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
Here I do not have my private life around. Thus I have nothing to do but to concentrate on my business.
Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbour with?
Well, if you guys need a toll system for your highways or something like that I am ready to help you!
But, joking aside, I can offer my knowledge of IT approaches. Check my website karsten-jacobi.de.
Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
I am a Tango Argentino maniac and Berlin is a very very good place to follow that. The only place that I know which is even better for this is Buenos Aires...
When I am not at a Milonga or in the Office it is quite likely that I am in a café around or in my favourite bar, Crossroads.

Thanks a lot and all the best to you!
