Jesper Moberg

Hi Jesper - member of the month in April!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Jesper Moberg (33) and I’m an engineer from Sweden. I work as a project manager for a Swedish engineering company (Midroc) within the field of automation, electrical engineering and industrial IT. I studied mechanical engineering which might make me the only non-IT engineer in Berlin. J Midroc has around 3000 employees and offices around the world but I’m the only employee based in Berlin.

What made you come to Berlin?
My better half. During a vacation in Nicaragua four years ago I met my girlfriend Ramona. After a long time commuting back and forth between Stockholm and Berlin I decided to move here. It was not a very difficult decision.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
Up until now I have been working on one of our international projects. We are delivering an automatic train control system together with Bombardier to the world’s largest gold mine in Papua, Indonesia. But that project is in its final stage and now I will instead be focusing establishing an office here in Berlin. An exciting new challenge!

Since when do you cowork at Office Club?
Since September last year when I set up my fixed desk in the back.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
For us it is the perfect solution right now. Because I’m so far the only employee here in Berlin we don’t want set up a full office. A desk in a coworking space makes us flexible and we can keep our costs low.

Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbour with?
Difficult question. We are a business-to-business company and we only work with industrial clients, which probably makes us/me quite unique in this coworking space where it is mostly about IT and startups. But who knows, we might have some common clients or maybe somebody would like to switch from high level programming to robot and PLC programming. We are always on the lookout for skilled engineers.

Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
If any of you have missed Tempelhofer Feld, I would really recommend it. Especially know when the spring is coming. On your way you can stop in Schillerkiez for a good burger. A recommendation around the corner would be the cocktails at[nbsp] Becketts Kopf, just up the street.

Thanks a lot and all the best for you and your projects!
