Meet Ferdinand Facklam - our member of the month in September!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Ferdinand Facklam. I am an artist and architect based in Berlin. 
I create and explore objects, sculptures, paintings and installations. 

What made you come to Berlin? 
Originally I am Swiss and lived a long time in Zurich. 3 years ago I was looking for positive change in my life because I was sad and frustrated. In Berlin I met old friends, made new friends, a new love and I found a better work-life balance.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
My works are mostly an expression of the creative dispute between urbanity and nature or the artificial and the organic. I take organic shapes and transform them into something new - an artificial creation based on nature, thus merging those realms. http://www.ferdinandfacklam.com. Currently I'd love to teach/ work at art school and realise art projects alongside.

Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
I've been working at the Office Club for nearly 2 years.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
The staff is very friendly and I benefit from the facilities with all the tech equipment and ample space.

Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbour with?
My main topics are art, technology and architecture.
 I can help with 3D design and so called parametric methods.

Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
Berlin is an exciting and friendly place to be. As an architect I like to lunch at Chipperfield's Kantine. I love Stargarder with its plenty cafes, restaurants and bars. I frequently have breakfast at endearing Fräulein Dickes, supper at Pasta & Vino and get my bread rolls at Cafe Krümel.
