Meet Niklaas - our member of the month in November!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
I am Niklaas and I live near Arkonaplatz. Originally, I am from a small village in Baden-Württemberg close to the Bavarian border.

What made you come to Berlin?
I came here in 2013 to make my master.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
I am in the last phase of my PhD in philosophy and will hand in my thesis in the next couple of months. I am not sure yet what exactly I will do afterwards, but I do not intent to stay in academia. I feel like I have been in the ivory tower long enough now.

Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
Since August 2020.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
If I work alone in my apartment all day long and do not leave the house, I go crazy. I like working in a public space, surrounded by other people. Also, I can walk to Office Club.

Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbour with?
I have quite some experience with giving complex and confusing ideas a clear and comprehensible structure. And I have dealt with writer’s block. So I can help with anything related to that.

Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
There are a lot. Two of my favorite restaurants in the vicinity are Rou, a vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant in Schwedter Straße, and Djimayala, an Israeli restaurant near Rosenthaler Platz.
