Meet Jakob - our member of the month in January!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
Hey everyone, I’m Jakob and I’m from Offenburg, South Germany.

What made you come to Berlin?
I used to live in Stuttgart for two years and wasn’t happy with my work and private life over there. I always wanted to live in Berlin, so I moved here right before the pandemic. Wasn’t the best timing but everything worked out after some hard months.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
I’m working part-time for a small company called Velamo. We sell fashion accessories like phone cases, wallets, bags and more. I’m their in-house graphic designer, photographer and video editor for social media and advertising. Beside my work at Velamo, I’m a freelance photographer, film maker and editor. In the near future I want to focus more on my freelance work and maybe do it full time.

Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
I'm a coworker at Office Club since June 2021.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
My employer is located on the other side of Germany and I don’t want to work from home. So the benefit is that I have a nice working space in a nice area with 24/7 access.

Which questions / problems could you help your co-working neighbor with?

Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
I love walking around Berlin with some friends and going to some bars in Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg or Kreuzberg. I highly recommend Standard Pizza Mitte right next to Mikkeller Berlin at Torstraße 102 for a delicious pizza and craft beer.
