Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
Eckart Burgwedel (42, Co-Founder) has been working as software professional for more than 12 years and co-founded and lead two companies already. Actually being a lawyer by training, he grew up with creating software and has always been passionate about the intersection of software and music. He plays guitar and studied music theory and pedagogy in his spare time. He is, together with Simon, the visionary and strategic mind of Uberchord Engineering
Simon Barkow-Oesterreicher (40, Co-Founder) adds professional scientific analysis as well as software development knowledge. Simon sings and plays four instruments and also studied music theory. At Uberchord Engineering he is, together with Eckart, the creative mind for defining features and planning the overall strategy and is now doing business development.
Lindsay Buescher (32, US Major in Marketing Management) is an app and online marketing expert with 8+ years of experience. In the last three years, Lindsay was the key decision maker in guiding Red Bull’s digital marketing efforts. She is an analytics expert and knows both organic growth and paid acquisition inside out.
Martin Polak (25, Co-Founder), our Swiss CTO and the mastermind behind Uberchord's audio recognition engine. After his Master at ETH Zürich in Electric Engineering he specialized in signal processing, and despite his young age of 25, he is already a brilliant engineer.
Enzo Galli (38, Musician), master of Jazz guitar and music theory. As a musician and teacher with 25+ years of experience, Enzo has been on a mission of not only exploring the universe of music theory itself but also how to make it accessible to his students. He is responsible for the guitar didactics and the quality behind Uberchord’s chord library.
What are you working on right now?
Imagine being able to learn how to play guitar on your smartphone! Uberchord is a mobile app with a break-through audio recognition technology that enables real-time listening and feedback just like a personal guitar teacher. The patent-pending algorithm took 20 months of development and enables a new guitar teaching method. We start with teaching guitar chords but will eventually create a platform for all aspects of teaching musical instruments.[nbsp]
How did that develop? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
Of course we want to change the way people learn musical instruments!
Since when do you cowork at Office Club?
We started working at Office Club beginning of this year.
What are the benefits of using a coworking space for you?
Most important is that we could get working right from the start with no set up of furniture etc. necessary. Also we like the flexiblity to add or remove seats quickly since some team members are working sometimes here and sometimes there.
Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbours with?
We already had some fruitful discussions about product development, online marketing and general start-up discussions.
Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
Office Club! If we are not working here, we hang around at meet-ups throughout town.
