Meet Aneta - our member of the month in May!

Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
Hi, I am Aneta, a life and career coach, and I come from Slovakia originally. To Berlin I moved from Brussels. Currently I live in the Mitte-Nord part of Berlin.

What made you come to Berlin?
My husband Miguel (also an Office Club member) got an offer from his employer to take a position in Berlin. My coaching job is quite mobile, so we decided to give Berlin a try and have stayed here since then, which has been for four and half years now.

What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
I support people through complex changes in their work and private lives, the kind of changes that shake with us and crack us open to new possibilities. I use my combined professional background in coaching, career services, psychology and psychotherapy, and provide transformational coaching.
In the near future, I will continue helping those who choose not going back to the old normal but would like to reshape what their normal is. I will help people use these turbulent times as a great opportunity to re-evaluate what they truly want to do with their careers and lives, and go for it.
My clients include also other coaches, healthcare professionals and other people in caring professions, who, during the pandemic, might have been investing themselves in their work more than ever before. So, my near future is about supporting those who support others.

Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
It was again Miguel who started it one day by inviting me to Office Club for coffee. The coffee was just great and motivated me to check all the other benefits of the place. I became a member last year in May.

What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
Being among people, definitely. I enjoy the sense of people around and knowing that we have been working on such diverse things.
The friendly staff members.
The coffee.
My coaching sessions require privacy and confidential setting, so those I currently do all from home, online. I come to Office Club on the days when I want to do some admin work or preparations for longer hours than I could do from home with our three-year old treasure around. Recently I have used the space to redesign and relaunch my website www.SmallBigChange.com.

Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbour with?
If you have ever been curious about what coaches actually do and how it differs from other types of support, I am happy to help you navigate in that. As a coach, I can help you make professional and personal changes that you consider meaningful. And you can also approach me just as an Office Club colleague and the person sitting, standing nearby, for a chat or help. I enjoy getting to know people.

Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
I really like the little rose garden on the top of Weinbergspark, very close to where I live. I go there to recharge. Among the roses and graffiti, there is the interesting mixture: you will spot there fashionistas sipping their crémant, business men celebrating successes of the day, teenagers in search of meaning and/or privacy behind the bushes until the gardeners tell them off, people younger or older than those for whom the surrounding streets have been optimized, some inspired and uninspired artists, and whoever else on that day comes there to be alone or to be among people. The magic of the place is that you can fit in on days of heels and glamour, and same well in slippers or jogging trousers. For me, it is a refreshing, more diverse and thus more representative sample of humanity: a bubble of reality in the bubble of the hyped Mitte. And, facing south, if there is a tiniest bit of sunshine in Berlin, you can find it there.

Thanks a lot and all the best to you!
