Meet Moritz Hellwig - our member of the month in June!
Introduction round: Who are you and where are you from?
I was born in Hamburg but grew up in Dusseldorf mostly. Later I moved to the Netherlands, Portugal, and Brazil to study.
What made you come to Berlin?
I wanted to move to Berlin after I finished my Master’s degree as most of my close friends are here. However, I ended up back in Dusseldorf. I came to Berlin with my brother in 2016 then. Now, two out of my three siblings are living here as well which I enjoy a lot.
What exactly do you do? What's in the pipeline for the near future?
With our company “New Fuel”, we focus on Consulting and Venture Building in the retail and FMCG industry. Currently, we are supporting a client in Cologne with entering a new business field. In this project we already contributed to the sharpening of the business model and the business case. Moreover, we designed the target operating model as well as the organizational structure for the new organization.
Currently, we are supporting the finishing touches before the launch, which is planned for this summer. During the summer months we plan to design a company/investment case within the B2B wholesale segment for strategic investors. Finally, for this fall we are in talks to support a new client in optimizing his purchasing departments and processes across several countries.
Luckily, we are quite busy and want to hire more people. So, if anybody knows somebody that knows somebody who is interested in doing an internship in Consulting or Venture Building or is looking for a Consultant and Co-founder position and has the background, please get in touch with us.
Since when do you cowork at Office Club Berlin Prenzlauer Berg?
I started working at Office Club sometime last fall.
What is the benefit of using a coworking space for you?
We’re traveling quite a lot for work reasons, thus coworking helps us to manage our expenses while at the same time providing the needed structure to work, great amenities, and a place of belonging when we are in Berlin.
Which questions / problems could you help your coworking neighbour with?
I think we know some things about retail and FMCG - especially, in the food and near-food segment. If anybody has a question on that, just let us know. Additionally, we have knowledge on business case development, target operating model and process design as well as IT requirement engineering and agile project management and are happy to help. Just be in touch – we are usually around on Fridays.
Do you have favourite spots in Berlin? Something to recommend / consider especially for people coming here?
There are just too many good places. I think that no matter what your interests are, there is a place for you in Berlin. I really like to have dinner at “Nauta”, which is a Peruvian-Japanese restaurant at Kastanienallee - “Lugosi” for drinks in Kreuzberg. Random recommendation: Stadtbad Mitte "James Simon" is a great spot to go swimming in the early afternoon on a weekday.
Thanks a lot and all the best to you!
